Meet the author

When I was a child, I had my own bedtime routines. But my mother had a secret: she'd call me over to read fairy tales. We’d snuggle under a warm blanket, turn on the soft night light, and with the moon peeking through the window, she’d read.

Her voice transported me to a magical world as I gazed at the illustrations, feeling safe and enchanted. Ever since that time long ago, reading to children became a cherished tradition in my life.

Hello! It's me, Ina. Nice to meet you all!

of Stevie's Tales

As a mother, I shared this with my own children, reading books for kids every night. I told them stories of my own making too, and dreamed of creating a book someday. Life, however, kept me busy with raising children and settling into our new life in Canada.

But, eventually, my youngest son rekindled my love for storytelling, and I finally began writing down the tales I’d always dreamed of sharing.

Hello! I'm Ina Chitenco, and my wish is to create fairy tales that bring a little magic to bedtime!

As any parent knows, getting little ones to settle down at night can be a challenge. They suddenly remember all the “important” things they need to do—drink water, pet the cat, check on their favourite toys. Does it sound familiar?

So, this is how a series of enchanting stories was born, where Stevie finds himself in funny and heartwarming situations, discovering the wonders of nature, friendship, and imagination.

Each story in the Stevie's Tales series brims with delightful characters like Pok the worm, the talking doors, and living dough, all brought to life through the beautiful illustrations by Irina Glushchenko.
